How to set up meta tags

You can customize the following meta tags in the PatientSites dashboard:

1) Title
2) Description

Meta Title is the main topic of the web page and is shown in Google search results as the heading. We recommend that you make the title descriptive of the main topic of the web page and include your main keyword in this title.

Meta description is a brief summary of what a particular web page is about. This description shows up in search engines when someone searches for your website. We recommend that you try to make this description clear and concise, and be descriptive of what the page is actually about. You don't necessarily need to include keywords in the meta description but it will help if you do.

Follow these steps in order to update the meta tags for your web pages:

1) Go to Content in main menu

2) Select a page from the left column

3) Click on Page Settings

4) Now you can enter your title and description in the box labelled Page <title> and <meta name="description"> respectively

5) Click the green SAVE button once you're done

It's best to keep meta titles and descriptions long enough that they're sufficiently descriptive, so we recommend titles between 50-60 characters and descriptions between 50–160 characters. Keep in mind that the "optimal" length will vary depending on the situation, but your primary goal should be to provide value and get more people to click on your website in search results.
