Connecting Your Google Business Profile

This guide walks you through connecting your clinic's Google Business Profile (GBP) to PatientSites. Once connected, PatientSites will evaluate your current GBP and provide a score based on the information and content currently on your profile. You can then use the score and recommendations to identify areas that need improvement and make the necessary updates to improve your profile.

  • 1. Go to Settings, then Locations & Hours

Log in at client.patientsites.com, then open the Settings menu and select Locations & Hours.

  • 2. Click Connect GBP Account

In the top-right corner of the page, click the green Connect GBP Account button.

  • 3. Choose the correct Google account

A popup window will open to start the connection. Make sure you select the email address used to manage the clinic's Google Business Profile, not a personal or unrelated account.

  • 4. Grant full access and continue

On the next screen, check the box next to “See, edit, create, and delete your Google business listings,” then click Continue. This permission is required so updates made in the PatientSites web editor can be sent directly to your Google Business Profile.

Note: Although Google’s standard permission message includes the word “delete,” there is no option in PatientSites to delete or remove your Google Business Profile. This permission simply allows PatientSites to access your profile and send the updates you make in the PatientSites web editor to Google.

  • 5. Select the location to connect

Your Google Business Profile is now connected to PatientSites. The final step is to select the clinic's Google Business Profile from the dropdown list.

If your account has multiple clinic locations, you can connect each location separately. If you only have one location, simply select that profile from the list.

Note: The Google account you are connecting needs to have Owner or Manager access to the clinic’s GBP for it to show up in the dropdown.
